The PTC SY series Manual Stacker-Edge Trimmer is a safe, reliable and simple to operate machine that tacks successive layers of green ceramic sheets together and efficiently cuts the 4 side edges of the stack at once.
Cut sheets are placed on the moving stage of the stacking (right) side by the operator. The very first layer is placed on the stage with the Mylar facing down and held in place by vacuum. Next layer is placed on top of the first layer with the Mylar facing up; pressure and heat is applied for a pre-selected period of time. This process is repeated until the desired number of layers is achieved.
After the tacked stack is completed, it is removed by the operator and placed on the cutting stage. Once the temperature of the stack reaches the set point, it is moved under the cutting head, which has 4 blades at preset distances. All 4 side edges are trimmed at once and the resulting stack is now ready for warm isostatic lamination process.
Processing variables such as pressure, temperature and time are set via digital controller for accurate and repeatable process. A real-time pressure sensor displays the actual pressure on a large LCD display for easy process monitoring.
